Dr. Farouk Dey Appointed as President of Palo Alto University

Dr. Farouk Dey—a visionary, transformative, inclusive, and decisive leader who will lead Palo Alto University into its next chapter.

Dr. Farouk Dey

Dr. Farouk Dey has been appointed as the next President of Palo Alto University, effective July 1, 2025. After an extensive national search, the Palo Alto University Board of Trustees is confident that Dr. Dey’s vision, leadership, and commitment to student success, innovation, and equity will propel Palo Alto University (PAU) into its next chapter.

Dr. Dey holds a PhD and an EdS in Educational Leadership, an MBA, an MEd in Counseling Psychology, and a BBA in Finance. Most recently, he served as Vice Provost for Integrative Learning and Life Design at Johns Hopkins University, where he implemented a forward-thinking approach to student and alumni success and connected education with real-world impact. Previously, as Dean of Career & Experiential Education at Stanford University, he increased funding, staffing, alumni-student connections, enrollment in professional development courses, and industry representation on campus to enrich students’ academic and professional experiences.

As PAU’s President, Dr. Dey will advance our mission and ensure the university remains at the forefront of mental and behavioral health. He will leverage his diverse experience to further strengthen enrollment, fundraising, and partnerships, while maintaining a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, clinical training, service, and research. Dr. Dey has expressed great enthusiasm for joining PAU at this pivotal moment and looks forward to collaborating with our faculty, students, staff, alumni, and community partners to create a world where insight into human behavior improves well-being and contributes to just and inclusive communities.
