Inclusive Excellence Symposium
We are pleased to announce the inaugural PAU Inclusive Excellence Symposium on April 24, 2024, an event designed to celebrate and disseminate research and impactful initiatives related to Inclusive Excellence thriving within our university.
Inclusive excellence is a philosophy and approach that emphasizes the creation of environments, systems, and practices that actively engage and include individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and, perspectives. It goes beyond mere diversity and recognizes the importance of fostering a culture where all individuals, regardless of their differences, feel valued, respected, and empowered. Inclusive excellence promotes equity and fairness, seeking to remove barriers and provide equal opportunities for success. It is not only about representation but also about creating a climate that encourages collaboration, innovation, and the full realization of the potential within diverse communities. Through inclusive excellence, PAU strives to cultivate a sense of belonging for everyone, thereby enhancing collective learning, creativity, and overall societal well-being.
At PAU, our commitment to Inclusive Excellence is deeply embedded in our strategic plan. ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
Prepare for an enriching symposium showcasing presentations that provide a distinct opportunity to learn and connect within the vibrant PAU community. Engage across various disciplines, gaining valuable insights into inclusive practices, research, and initiatives. Regardless of whether you're a student, faculty member, or staff, we warmly invite you to be part of this celebration of diversity and social change.
We encourage all PAU Students, Faculty and Staff to submit proposals to present at the symposium. This is an excellent opportunity to share your research, initiatives, and experiences with a supportive and engaged audience. We are particularly interested in proposals that align with Inclusive Excellence and address topics such as:
● Multicultural understanding and awareness
● Social justice and advocacy
● Empowerment of historically under-resourced populations
● Addressing social disparities and promoting equity
● Innovative programs and inclusive practices

To submit a proposal, please complete the application by February 16, 2024 at 5:00 PM PST. Selected
presenters will be notified by March 29, 2024. We strongly encourage all members of the PAU
community to participate, as we believe in the power of diverse perspectives and ideas.
