Jorge Wong Honored With 2020 Outstanding Psychologist Award
PAU alumnus, trustee, and faculty member Jorge Wong, Ph.D., will receive the 2020 Outstanding Psychologist Award from Division 31 (State, Provincial and Territorial Psychological Association Affairs) of the American Psychological Association.
“I was thrilled to learn that Dr. Wong will receive the Outstanding Psychologist Award from Division 31. His commitment to the field of psychology is extraordinary, from his advocacy work on the state and local levels to his role as a community mental health leader and educator," said PAU President Maureen O’Connor. "As a PAU alumnus, trustee and faculty member, I am so happy and proud that he is being recognized with this prestigious honor.”
Dr. Wong received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from PAU. He is a member of the university’s Board of Trustees and an adjunct faculty member.
“It is such an honor to have been chosen by my peers and state leaders for the 2020 APA Division 31 Outstanding Psychologist Award. Through my work with the California Psychological Association and its Santa Clara County chapter, I can help to advocate for the importance of psychologists in our healthcare systems – something I deeply care about,” said Dr. Wong. “It has also been a privilege to be part of Palo Alto University’s Diversity and Community Mental Health emphasis and share with students the many ways in which psychologist can positively impact the world around us.”
