Peer-to-peer Giving Launches at PAU
This year, we were thrilled to introduce an exciting new effort – Peer-to-Peer crowdfunding! As PAU expands our fundraising program and advances our fundraising practices, this new crowdfunding initiative aligned with our overarching theme for the year: compassion. This initiative embodies our dedication to acting with compassion and embracing our shared humanity in all we do.
As you may know, in the last few years, we have made great strides in creating standards for the development department and implementing the highest ethical principles in fundraising practices for increasing non-tuition revenue and supporting the advancement of the mission of PAU. Inspired by the success stories of causes like The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, we introduced a crowdfunding initiative during our fall appeal that encouraged participation not only from our community but also welcomed our family, friends, and broader networks to join in. Beyond fundraising, this effort is aimed at increasing awareness of PAU's mission among new individuals and communities.
Thank you and congratulations to our amazing ambassadors and inaugural volunteer fundraisers who created their individual donation pages and took the opportunity to tell inspirational personal stories of why they support PAU by sharing their individual giving page on social media and through texts and emails to their networks:
- Trustee Cynthia James
- Provost Erika Cameron
- Faculty member Donna Sheperis
- University Librarian and Director of Educational Technology Scott Hines
- Director of Alumni Engagement Chloe Corcoran
- Strategic Communications and Engagement Manager Carlie Belmodis
- Director of Development Anne Farrah
This incredible team of volunteers raised over $4,000 with 26 new unique donors. What a terrific start for a new initiative at PAU.
If you are interested in participating in a crowdfunding effort at PAU, we will host another appeal this spring to support PAU’s Student Emergency Fund, which helps students at PAU during times of unexpected need. If you are interested in joining us to support PAU students during difficult times, please contact Anne Farrah at afarrah@paloaltou.edu.
