Honoring Black History Month at PAU

At Palo Alto University, we are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community where everyone feels valued and empowered. Throughout the year, we recognize and celebrate various affinity months that highlight the history, achievements, and contributions of historically marginalized communities.

In February, we celebrate Black History Month and honor the impact of Black individuals in shaping culture, history, and society. This recognition is part of our ongoing commitment to inclusivity and social justice. We invite our students, faculty, and staff to explore university resources, utilize our custom Zoom backgrounds, and take part in events and initiatives that promote inclusivity and awareness.

We utilize the Inclusive Excellence Framework as a roadmap for systemic, intentional, and sustainable work to drive an inclusive university. Learn more about our strategic vision. Our recognition of this month is one of many ways we uphold our commitment to equity and belonging at PAU. We acknowledge that this list of resources below is not exhaustive and welcome feedback on additional ways to support and celebrate our community.
