PAU: A Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI)

¡Bienvenidos! 

We are proud that Palo Alto University has been designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) by the U.S. Department of Education. Palo Alto University is committed to supporting Latinx students to succeed academically and in their careers as professional mental health practitioners. With this HSI designation, PAU is eligible for grants to fund training, programs, and infrastructure to further meet the educational needs of our Latinx students.

The HSI designation is one of four that comprise Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) in the nation. Learn more about how PAU earned this designation here

Latinx Initiatives at PAU


Arnell Armas, Pulso President Image
Latino Student Organization (PULSO)

A student-led group that focuses on Latinx issues and expanding multicultural awareness within the student psychological community through education, mentorship, and service.

Elizabet Revilla, PhD Clinica Latina Director Graphic
Clínica Latina

A specialty clinic that provides bilingual mental health services to the Latinx community within PAU’s training clinic, the Gronowski Center. PAU trains ~13 Spanish-speaking doctoral students per year.

Latinx Task Force (LTF)

Comprised of faculty, staff, and students, the LTF has spearheaded many Latinx-serving initiatives, such as the Spanish for Clinicians Course and the Encontrando Comunidad en el Colegio webinar.

Rosalva Mejia Latine Merit Scholarships
Latinx Merit Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to high-potential Latinx students at community colleges to transfer to PAU for their junior and senior years.
