Palo Alto, CA Aug. 2, 2018 — Over 100 Palo Alto University (PAU) faculty members, students and alumni will join other leaders in the field of psychology to share their knowledge during the 126th annual American Psychology Association (APA) Convention taking place August 9-12 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. This annual event is the largest gathering of psychologists and psychology students in the world with 11,000+ attendees from all areas of specialization in psychology and from research, practice, education and policy.

Palo Alto University (PAU) is pleased to announce the appointment of veteran marketing and business management executive Camille Watson to its Board of Trustees.

    Over 200 Palo Alto University (PAU) students participated in commencement ceremonies this month with degrees in counseling or psychology and a commitment to improving the human condition. During June ceremonies, 87 new psychologists were congratulated for their achievement in completing doctoral programs and 139 master’s and bachelor’s degrees were conferred.    “At Palo Alto University, we are committed to educating and training the next generation of mental health professionals,” said PAU President Maureen O’Connor, Ph.D., J.D.

The history and challenges faced by women of color in psychology is the focus of a special event hosted by Palo Alto University’s Center for Excellence in Diversity, Friday, June 8, at the Los Altos History Museum.

 

Palo Alto University (PAU) doctoral student Deonte Williams is flying high after learning he was awarded the highly competitive Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Air Force in addition to being commissioned as an Air Force Second Lieutenant on May 9. Williams, who begins the third year of PAU’s doctoral program in clinical psychology in the fall, was one of only a handful of students selected for the award from hundreds of applicants.
