Live Virtual Training via Zoom
The American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) is excited to offer a free virtual training on Demonstrating Competence in Ethics and Diversity through Board Certification with Jeni McCutcheon, Psy.D, ABPP, Adriana Miu, Ph.D., ABPP and Kathleen T. Bechtold, Ph.D., ABPP.
This training is 2 hours, and all attendees are eligible to receive 2 CEs/CEUs upon completion of the evaluation. A copy of the recording will be available to those who register.
Board certification is necessary and essential in psychology. The first half of the program will provide a step-by-step guide on applying for board certification. Helpful resources will be reviewed. Participants will realize the achievability and value of choosing to have their competence recognized through board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology.
The second half of the program will highlight the ways in which board certification (both the process of pursuing certification as well as the resources and training available to board-certified psychologists) helps the psychologist to be mindful of and integrate into practice ethics and laws as well as sensitivity to diversity. Specific ways in which board certification helps to promote awareness of, sensitivity to, and mastery of skills related to working with diverse individuals, groups, populations, and communities will be covered. Ways in which board certification promotes awareness of and mindful application of ethical and legal principles, standards, statutes, and policies will be discussed.

This live program is intended for mental health and other allied professionals.

We are proud to partner with The American Board of Professional Psychology for this training. The American Board of Professional Psychology serves the public by promoting the provision of quality psychological services through the examination and certification of professional psychologists engaged in specialty practice. ABPP is the primary organization for Specialty Board Certification in Psychology. There are currently 15 Specialty Boards and one Subspecialty Board.
