International Students
Palo Alto University prides itself on providing a welcoming environment to students from all over the world. International students will feel welcome in the diverse San Francisco Bay Area culture. International Student Services provides assistance in the areas of housing, living in the United States, as well as F-1 immigration regulations and F-1 employment.
F-1 international student applicants applying to PAU's doctoral programs in clinical psychology, please review Admissions Requirements for F-1 Students.
Eligible Applicants

Applicants who require an I-20 form for an F-1 visa application may only apply to Palo Alto University's PhD in Clinical Psychology and PsyD-PAU Stanford Consortium programs.

International students who plan to remain in their home country while enrolled are eligible to apply to the Online Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. This program is not eligible for I-20 issuance for full-time study in the United States. Students may be issued an I-20 for the purpose of attending required on-site residencies only, during which time F-1 status requirements apply.
Ineligible Applicants
- International students currently living in the U.S. in F-1 status and those interested in becoming F-1 international students for studying in the U.S. are not eligible to apply for Palo Alto University’s PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision, MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling on-campus format, MSW in Social Work, MS in Psychology, or Undergraduate programs.
