The live professional training program on Mentoring and Career Development is presented by Edward Rhett Landis, PhD, ABPP in partnership with the American Board of Forensic Psychology (AAFP).
Mentoring is often cited as crucial to success in a wide range of professional careers, particularly including psychology. Despite efforts to characterize the mentoring process, what actually occurs seems to vary in the finer details, yet the reported outcomes “tend to be the same (Malinowski 2018).” While mentoring is often thought to be primarily for the benefit of the mentee, mentors may also benefit in a variety of ways. This workshop will highlight principles for the development of effective mentor/mentee relationships.
