Danielle C. Doskocil (Dannie), MSW, presents a live virtual professional training program on The "No Cap" Generation Z Culture: A Candid Update For Boomers, Gen-X, and Millennials.
Generation Z’s post-pandemic culture includes rapid technological advances and mind-boggling trends that baffle mental health clinicians almost as much as their parents. As a result, helping professionals are faced with shifting theoretical approaches, clinical techniques, and cultural considerations to meet the needs of these clients and their families. This training will provide updated information on Generation Z’s culture, theoretical applications, and specific needs to ensure we are meeting these clients where they are while ensuring inclusivity and understanding when bridging the gap with older family members.
The target audience would be clinicians who specialize in working with children, adolescents, and emerging adults that identify with Generation Z ideologies. Clinicians who have been in practice for more than ten years or who are older professionals would be excellent candidates for receiving this presentation as new information. The information in this training would be helpful for practitioners in schools and colleges, private practice, family treatment, or those that work with younger veterans. Parent coaches would find this information useful in helping their clients bridge the generation gap.
Participants should have a general understanding of child and adolescent development (and ideally emerging adult theory) as well as a basic knowledge of social media applications popular among Generation Z. They should understand the importance of cultural competency and the code of ethics specific to their licensure area. Practitioners engaged in either the Clinical or Digital Mental Health tracks would benefit from participating in this learning opportunity.
Training Outline
- Adolescent Development--with specific applications to Generation Z.
- Theoretical Approaches--to include CBT, Attachment Theory, Family Systems, etc.
- Generation as culture with specific data on Gen Z in a post-pandemic society.

- Family engagement
