Jesse W. Timmermann, MS
Jesse Timmermann is a dedicated UX/UI Designer and Researcher with a robust foundation in clinical behavioral health and a specialization in the intersection of technology and mental health. With a Master of Science in Psychology from Palo Alto University and years of experience in both academic research and clinical environments, Jesse brings a unique, user-centered perspective to digital therapeutics. Jesse’s expertise lies in designing and improving digital interventions for mental health treatment, particularly for populations with ADHD, major depressive disorder (MDD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). At the Children and Adolescents Psychotherapy and Technology (CAPT) Research Lab, Jesse played a pivotal role in developing an AI-powered chatbot to support parents of children with ADHD. This project involved competitive analysis, information architecture, and risk assessments to ensure safety and user engagement. Building on earlier work at the Intervention Sciences Laboratory at the University of Arkansas, Jesse has conducted in-depth research into the effects of social conflict, trauma exposure, and suicide risk in young adults. This experience in behavioral insights, combined with clinical exposure at Springwoods Behavioral Health, informs Jesse’s empathetic approach to designing solutions that address the real-world challenges faced by individuals with mental health conditions. Jesse’s contributions emphasize accessibility, ethics, and evidence-based practices in the application of artificial intelligence for mental health. From usability testing and user interviews to leveraging AI responsibly in assessment and treatment, Jesse focuses on creating digital products that bridge the gap between clinical research and user needs, ensuring they are impactful and inclusive. This blend of technical skill, psychological insight, and commitment to user-centered design positions Jesse as a thought leader in integrating digital therapeutics into clinical practice.
