Amanda Beltrani, PhD

Amanda Beltrani, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in Maine and New York who specializes in clinical and forensic psychology. She earned a master’s degree in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, with a forensic concentration, from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Bellevue Hospital, including a year-long forensic assessment rotation at Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center. Dr. Beltrani currently serves as a clinical psychologist at Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center in New York City, where she conducts court-related evaluations, treats patients with complex clinical and legal needs, and supervises doctoral trainees. She also conducts court-ordered forensic evaluations in Maine and New York addressing competency to proceed, mental state at the time of an alleged offense, and diagnostic questions. Dr. Beltrani has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on competency to stand trial, forensic assessment and decision-making, violence risk, serious mental illness, and treatment needs among justice-involved youth. In addition, Dr. Beltrani contributes to CONCEPT Continuing & Professional Studies, where she develops educational content designed to support the professional growth of new and aspiring mental health professionals.
