Matt Cordova, PhD

Matt Cordova, PhD, is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. He completed training at the University of Kentucky (PhD), Palo Alto VA (predoctoral internship), and Stanford (postdoctoral residency) and has more than 25 years of experience working in integrated care settings. His clinical work in Behavioral Medicine has centered on oncology/hematology, chronic pain, and health behavior change. As a Professor at Palo Alto University, Matt teaches Health Psychology and Provider Wellness courses, conducts research on medical and other trauma, and mentors doctoral students. He is also the Mental Health Training Program Manager and Psychology Training Director VA Northern California in Martinez. Matt’s interests in Behavioral medicine, early intervention for traumatic stress, and positive psychology converge in his work with healthcare provider resilience and well-being.
