Greg Neimeyer, PhD
As a lifetime inductee of the Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars, much of Dr. Neimeyer’s career has been dedicated to teaching and training in the areas of psychodiagnostics and psychopathology. His professional development trainings on Eating Disorders have been presented nationally and internationally in a wide variety of academic, community, and hospital contexts, as well as to mental health associations, agencies, and organizations. Dr. Neimeyer is professor emeritus in the Department of Psychology at the University of Florida, where he served as the Graduate Coordinator and Director of Training in the doctoral program in counseling psychology. He also has served as the Chair of the Executive Board of the Council of Counseling Psychology Training Programs in the United States and has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, as well as the recipient of its Award for Outstanding Achievement in Career and Personality Research. Dr. Neimeyer has published widely in the area of professional development and has served as the Director of the Office of Continuing Education in Psychology at the American Psychological Association in Washington, D.C. His work draws on his extensive clinical experience in medical residency training programs, VAMCs, university counseling centers, and private practice.
