Library Collections
Library collections at PAU include print and electronic books and reference materials, DVD and streaming videos, and digital academic journals that focus on psychology, counseling, social work, and related behavior health disciplines. These resources can be found using our online library catalog, WorldCat Discovery, or our curated collection of online PAU databases.
The PAU Library is committed to developing online collections to meet the needs of our students, faculty, and staff, whether they are local or remote, and regardless of their time zones. Alumni may borrow physical items unless use is restricted and are provided with access to online content while they are on campus, but virtual access to proprietary digital content is not available.
In accordance with its collection development policies, the PAU Library does not accept donations of new or used materials. Faculty are welcome to deposit copies of course textbooks in the library's Course Reserves collection for use by students in their classes.
Books and eBooks
When available, books are purchased in electronic format for full-text access online. Otherwise, print books — including high-use psychological test manuals — are selected for purchase and may be checked out at the main campus. The most effective way to find items in the print book collection or the eBook collection is by searching in WorldCat Discovery.
DVD and Streaming Videos
DVD videos are available for checkout at the library on the Calvin campus, and a vast array of streaming videos are available online. Items in the DVD and streaming video collections can be found through a WorldCat Discovery search. These videos cover a wide range of disciplines, but they also provide targeted support for clinical and therapeutic training in psychology and counseling.
Digital Academic Journals
Articles from academic journals are available in full text online through the PAU databases, along with other types of electronic content including conference papers, newspaper articles, eBook chapters, book reviews, and abstracts of every sort. You may search the PAU journals list and the PAU databases list to identify the electronic journals and databases to which the PAU Library subscribes.
