Alumni Resources

The PAU Library provides services to alumni to the fullest extent possible, in accordance with its legal and ethical responsibilities on behalf of the university.

Please review our alumni policies below and contact the librarians via email to librarian@paloaltou.edu if you have any questions. We are happy to assist you!

Limited access to PAU Library journal articles is available through PAU Librarians. Contact the librarians at librarian@paloaltou.edu for more information.

Alumni are welcome to use the PAU Library in person at the Allen Calvin Campus during its regular hours of operation with no associated fees. Guest wifi access is available for using the PAU Library’s electronic resources while on site at any PAU campus.

Physical materials owned by the PAU Library – including books, dissertations, and DVDs – may be checked out according to our regular policies. Available items include test preparation materials for the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) licensing exam as well as for the Marital & Family Therapy exams (state and national levels). Regular overdue fines and charges for lost and damaged items will apply. Alumni library privileges will be suspended in cases of unpaid bills and/or excessive overdue items.

Due to the copyright, licensing, and institutional restrictions required for fulfilling our educational mission, the following circulating library materials and library services are not available to alumni:

  • Items from the Permanent Reserve and Course Reserves collections, including psychological test materials.
  • Remote access to our subscription-based electronic content, including eJournals and eBooks.
  • Interlibrary loan and document delivery of electronic files, including journal articles and book chapters.
  • Requests for items not available through the PAU Library.

Alumni may use Google Scholar as well as the search platforms linked in the boxes on this page to locate information resources that are freely available online. Registration for a free account may be required for access.

Alumni may also contact their local public library for assistance with locating library materials that are not available to them through the PAU Library.

Additionally, some universities (including Stanford University) offer guest access to the general public.

Some professional organizations offer member discounts on information resources, which our alumni may find beneficial. Members of the American Psychological Association are eligible to purchase individual access to APA's suite of databases for an annual fee.
